CONTINUE TO HEAL

Get fit:
If you are finding it difficult to get up and carry on like I suggested in the previous blog,then think exercise.It will not only keep you healthy but increase your energy,stamina and boost your confidence,If you have a park near where you live,wonderful!Why not go jogging.Or you may go for fast pace walking.Or dancing to music and doing household chores have been proven to make you heart beat faster and you will not stay down for too long.Or even join the gym,for fun(you will meet other people)and fitness.Make sure you do some form of exercise everyday and I will recommend,1st thing in the morning before anything else.
Before I go any further,I need to remind you that in all of this your mind will still wander back to the past, but the key thing is, be concious of this,take charge of your thoughts/mind as quickly as it drifts and refocus it to the present and again affirm out loud the aim of your recovery which is to live again.Do this as frequently as your mind takes you back to the past.
For now cook less:
During the period of recovery I am of the opinion that you should not go food shopping nor cook at all if you can help it. There is always the possibility of you still reaching out to food for comfort and this is detrimental to the whole assignment.Instead eat out,when you think about paying for a pricey meal,you will restrict yourself to portioned meals,that will meet your daily intake requirements and that only. It may even be an opportunity to try out various new eateries.And again it will get you out of the house!.
In all of this time too, be thinking, be reflecting on the direction you want your life to go from here,it may be a good opportunity to start in a new direction,it may be that you need to gain new skills or it may get as personal as getting rid of some habits you have allowed to become strongholds in your life. I will advice you jot down all of your thoughts,your observations,your plans as you go along and also be thinking about how you are going to get from where you are to there,where you now want to be!
