THE SCARS OF OUR LIVES
I have deep scars a reminder of where I have been, where I am coming from, some in small imprints and some in large. Emotional/mental, physical ,financial, relationship , career , health, spiritual scars, that if I choose to give up on life today and forever ,I will be justified.
When we are inflicted with a wound that then becomes a scar, the side effects usually are trauma, depression, anger, guilt, self pity, bitterness, revenge, distrust, strife, fear, resignation and hopelessness, all limiting factors that can leave us with our head bowed and our hearts sunken for a long time and in some cases a life time.
Imagine someone driving in a car, ends up in a car wreck, goes into a black out. Then about 30mins later, slowly regains consciousness, searches his or her memory: trying to recollect, reality sets in, that he/she’s been involved in an accident, tears begin to flow, as their life so far panoramas through their minds. He or she then tries to lift them self up but falls back down in excruciating pain, from sustained injuries.Help is out of sight.
It is their next choice of action, belief, that will determine if they will survive it or not. There is the choice to stay there and assume they have come to the end of their lives, wallow in self pity. There is the other choice to choose to find the courage within them, despite the pain they are in,to choose life and instantly develop a mental picture that reflects,“I am coming out of this”.
This is the way I have dealt with the scars of my life I choose to find a way to carry on living. Yes, you, me, may have been left on crutches and learning to walk again, our self esteem may have become low at some point,we may have lost confidence in our abilities, our inner beauty may have turned into a leanness of the soul, we may have lost many monies and lost time, friends, family, fame and fortune but we still have our lives,we are still standing. There is still hope. We may cry at the remembrance of the past, but we are still standing. Life hasn't/haven't been snuffed out OF YOU,NOR ME.If WE could just so much so reach out, stretch out a little bit further than where our issues have placed us,cling on to dear life, envisoned our hopes and dreams and picture again the joy WE once had and the joy that WE can still have, then it is not worth being alive and being dead at the same time. DO NOT DIE BEFORE YOUR TIME, EVEN YOUR SCAR is a sign of healing of what was once an open wound,it healed. DESIRE TO LIVE AGAIN!
