REACH CONFERENCE.

At the advent and simultaneously,the height of the gun and knife crime culture,youth killings,mostly black on black that swept the nation agog in 2007 and still stewing till today,the CLG;Communities and Local Government,a department in the office of the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson in response,decided to search and nominate across the nation, black men who were exemplary people to become national role models to REACH OUT TO younger black boys,(THAT WAS HOW THE NAME REACH CAME ABOUT)so that they can attain their full potential in life. A total of 10 national role models were chosen and the role models have fully taken on, on the huge task set before them. A year after, a conference was held recently as captured in these pictures of that gathering.
All stakeholders,including parents,organisations, government and public officials and the concerned gathered together at the Hilton Metropole,Edgware road to measure the success as well as proffer recommendations on how to take the cause further in continuation of what has started.It was a completely educative day and time. It shows that our black boys ,our future black men are capable of success if given the right mentorship.
