In every business it is important to know who you are and what you stand for so that it oozes out of you effortlessly, this is usually the window for networking, it will either get the conversation going or not.
Be friendly and warm so that the other person wants to spend their time talking to you. In some cases you may not have much time but exchange pleasantries and an exchange of business cards and telephone numbers as the case may be , a warm handshake and a beam smile with a promise to keep in touch will do it! (Please do keep your promise).
It is important to always carry on you, more than a couple of your business card, it’s a business Faux pas to run out of it or not have some on you at any given time or in the compartment of your car or in the inner part of your wallet!
It is also advice able to remember your mobile number ! You will be amazed ,how many people don't!
Always have a pen and note pad to write with, as well as an address book if possible. It’s wise to invest in these essentials.
