LET'S INDEED ARISE FOR ALL

Later today, the people of Osun will have the choice of deciding who their Governor for the next 4years would be and to that I would say "let the best man win". But more importantly is the issue of "Inclusive Electoral Process In Our Emerging Democracy". In monitoring the Ekiti State elections my group and I compiled what we found as a culture of exclusion of vulnerable groups in our elections. POST EKITI election, we strategized and set out to challenge the statuesque, so we followed up with high powered intensive lobbying with the media, varied stakeholders and INEC HEADQUARTERS ABUJA demanding that measures to mitigate the gaps be put in place as early as the Osun election and future elections thereafter. That advocacy paid off ! INEC is putting in place our recommendations to make voting more inclusive for PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES and vulnerable groups in today’s election and this will be monitored once again. I want to congratulate and encourage the 500,000 PEOPLE living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in Osun State out of which 100,000 registered to vote today. As the 1st set of deliberate inclusive voting in the history of our ELECTIONS, "HELP PUT INEC TO THE TEST", do not be intimidated, but go out there to exercise your franchise and rightfully so too!
