PEOPLE 1ST!

We carry with us the very 1st proof of inequality:our fingers. Our fingers are not equal yet you and I have not had surgery done to make them more equal. By default they never will be and for good reasons too-that interchangeably they complement one another other; yet with each its function! Life isn't about the richest, the poorest, the most brilliant, most beautiful, the latest, what name, the brand, who is right, who got where 1st, who has what or not. Life is all about:Making room for the other person so that they too can feel dignified! Notice I did not say making room for the other when you are full or comfortable.Just be conscious and be ready to make room for others that is where our humanity and its dignity lies.
The (Sustainable Development Goals)
SDGs is the newer opportunity of today for us all to renegotiate our humanity! Why leave any one behind! The greatest thing Africa needs right now is not more investment or at most to dignify its people, give its people a chance- enforce enabling policies. In the name of development , growth , capitalism, modernization and globalization we are stripping our people of their dignity with our own hands impoverishing them. Yet Goal 11 : which is about sustainable cities and communities: has its 1st target stated thus: By 2030 to ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade slums. Not demolish, maul down, forcefully eject, take over the land of slum dwellers but to UPGRADE. Prof. Collier at Prof. Utomi's lecture this year talked about affordable housing and building vertically and of flats but the ignorant elites laughed it off loud and said," we are africans flat ke", yet when we look around us we see palatial homes in their grandeur state of dereliction all over the place, government elephant projects are not left behind. Ilubinrin is gone comatose due to political you know what - http://independent.ng/controversy-trails-Ilubirin-housing-project/ and yet we have the newly
invested free trade zone has gulped a 100BN http://lagosstate.gov.ng/blog/2017/03/26/investments-in-Lekki-Free-Trade-Zone-hits-N100bn/ with settlers displaced and compensated what exactly?
The black race is communal in nature and in culture-home is everything to us. Homelessness is one of the dimensions of global poverty Index.
I welcome development thinking embraced by the Lagos State governments but gone were the days of development with out the farthest and poorest in the equation. We can not wish them away they are, a genuine part of us. Let the inhumane treatment of the dwellers of Otodo Gbame stop now!
You are not above the law! It is the duty of the government of the day to be creative with its people, place and process -not upholding antiquated methodologies!
