Between the Parliamentary week, Chatham House and Keeping Fit, letting down my hair was a good idea!

The very nature of the UK that enables you to keep fit no matter the city and its environs; to the sometimes gloomy weather (its November), it remains a delight and my number 1 stress buster  city. I mean, there is just so much to do in a day, you could go for long walks, bus journeys, go sight seeing ,go to the farmers marker, meet up with old friends, the cinema , or even visit the local library. If you want to get an insight into latest developments, you won't be short of current and important events across the city what ever your choice whats  for sure  is you will be more informed and in tune at any point in time and indeed I have been at some really cool events.

Starting with a healthy breakfast!
Gloomy mornings, understandably its WINTER but hey it doesn't keep me down!
On mornings when the chilly weather gives me no option of outdoor sports I simply head to the gym, its that adrenaline or the day is a struggle!

The self assisted gym I attend, with no trainers or attendant  in sight everything simplified for self use, and  for the apples and  bottled water left at the  side desk, you have to decide if its for the taking or you have to leave a coin or two, your guess is as good as mine!

Moi on the steps of Chatham House where I was attending a research findings on the streets children of Africa"
When  in London and interested in updates on researches, discussion events look on the Chatham House website

The  research presenters and discussant at the event "Poverty and Youth in Africa" at the Chatham House!

This is Westminster the seat of UK parliament: deemed world corridor of power and yes that's the big Ben!
The Westminsiter Hall, the oldest building in the parliament; I hear  King Henry VIII lived and  played tennis in this ancient hall!
Tourist and visitors to the parliament must go through it.

So I managed to catch the tail end of the Parliamentary week and this discussion on the topic  "Do we get the politicians we deserve", a seemingly universal question that all democracies of the world including our own Nigeria must answer.
The Parliamentary outreach service should be adopted  in Nigeria, they simply demystify the parliament for the rest society, it  was an honor to have partnered with them in 2012 when I organized the program  "How Parliament works " in the community to read more about it go to the link below   http://www.obv.org.uk/news-blogs/how-parliament-works

Visionary quotes on democratic history and events adorn the ancient Westminster hall .
