Why we all love Dubai!

Simply Emirates!

My 1st time on Emirates, known for their punctuality I nearly missed my flight at the Murtala Airport because fast track from the 1 queue for all meant I needed to pay some touts, I simply refused and was allowed past the queue on compassion after appealing to others!

Dubai today attracts thousands of tourists every year, a feat it could not achieve just over sixty years ago, where its on record that its population scraped a living by picking dates, diving for pearls, or sailing in wooden dhows to trade with Iran and India. It is arguably an economy whose growth can be compared to China's, if not faster, while at the same giving India a run for its for population growth, with it as the No 1 tourist destination. It has embraced the efficient working systems which was once the  ingenuity of the developed world, coupled with its imaginary vision from desert to world tourist center.
From my plane seat, I watched as the day  broke with this view over the beauty of the desert.
Prior to my transit flight via Dubai, (WITH A PLANNED STOP OVER ON RETURN TRIP), it would almost seem a crime that you haven't visited the lush city; just by the way it was taunted in one's face all the time by all Dick,Paul,Saul and Harry. Nigerian celebrities turned it into a haven for their weddings, and the rich spared us nothing as they flocked there for all that money can buy, including investing in real estate.
We have had a couple of death stories, how some Nigerian students have died mysteriously; one that comes to mind is the son of Ace sports presenter Aisha Falode  see http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/05/murder-dubai-aisha-falode-cries-justice/.
All in all the irony is on us all, (its the efficiency of their systems that we throng to buy") it  means we respect and would do everything to benefit from the systems other nations have devoted their human capital to and the competitive vision  to be greater than any other that they uphold of their nations, and back at home we claim and play the big man syndrome" Do you know who I am?", "Sorry I don't, but I do know you are not Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, nor are you Steve Jobs".  If we want Nigeria to be the eight wonder of the world, we must let systems work, not keep breaking them with our empty big man or woman (ness). (Excuse my English)

As expected of the visionary country, all I kept hearing on the radio on the flight , was the forthcoming Dubai Expo 2020, yes ! You heard me right  Dubai Expo 2020 which is 5 years away! What isn't there to learn and love about Dubai! For more on the expo 2020 visit https://expo2020dubai.ae/

The tail of the plane points to the beautiful sunrise, indeed it is a new dawn

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the desert has its unique beauty!
The clean ,glossy Dubai airport, created by hands , we can be the same if we allow it to work.

Dubai Airport  sparkling clean.

Ordeliness is part of the systems, we queue up in other countries but wont in ours,
Yards away from the train exit, there is the entrance for those going in and the exit for those coming off the train, see nobody did other wise,we were all behind the signs, that's what it should  be back home too!

A country that invest in children cant go wrong, here at the airport even strollers are provided for babies! Forward thinking!
